Where did you see this on DJEMF Facebook page--I don't see it on there. I would think it was JP doing a little fund-raising but not if it was on the girl's page.

Here's the article I cam across regarding it via the monkeebootlegs FB page: www.examiner.com/article/huge-collection-of-items-owned-by-the-monkees-davy-jones-to-be-auctionedI have to say, I find the cost of the catalog somewhat off-putting. High-end auction houses such as Sotheby's, Bonhams, etc. charge that much for catalogs of contemporary art. Also, a few of the prices asked seem to be on the low-end. Considering the location of the auction, as well as the age and type of items up for bid, I suspect Davy's daughters, not "the widow" are the source of the objects. It also fits in with the recent resolution of the estate and the comments some of the girls made about going through their father's property in Beavertown. Good for them, I hope they make good money. However, I think the dispersion of these items also kind of puts the kibosh on Davy's plans for a museum.

I'm so sorry, I meant to say it was on the Davy Jones FB page. I corrected it in the thread.

www.julienslive.com/view-auctions/catalog/id/153/?page=25You don't need to buy the catalog, it looks to me like this is the whole lot. There's about 8 pages that refer to Davy's items. I just saw the whole listing of everything at auction. Wow. Its about 200 items including furniture. There's a stage outfit in there that he was wearing at a show I saw. I have a photo of me with him and that's what he was wearing. Maybe I'll pick up a scratch ticket on my way home!

I came across the info about the auction too, kind of sad in a way, lots of outfits from the 80's, to me I should think that Brady Bunch jacket should bring in a good amount of cash, sad to see his driver's licenses, passport, credit cards, and other so personal items, but I am sure some one will be willing to pay for them, I was kind of surprised with all the furniture, I am not into antiques but I am sure that there are many out there that are, I hope it does bring in some funds to pay of the estates debt because I have seen it mentioned this is for the estate and not for the herd although it does seem many think the cash will be used for upkeep for the herd, I did see the Davy's Angels group has a Shot for the Herd going on to raise funding to pay for the herd's annual shots, hope you all are well, just thought I would drop in to see if any mention of the auction was posted.

With the auction over the past weekend, I am saddened all over again. I know Davy's legacy will live on in some sort of capacity through his family and the fandom. However, it just seems like it was another "goodbye" of sorts if that makes sense. I am not sure how much money was made at the auction. Talia, Sarah and Jessica were in NYC for the event.

Yes, I know what you mean. Its just like the longer it goes, the less and less you hear anything about him. I know, its natural, but it is also sad to me.
