Jodi Ritzen's still dragging it out as far as she can, but its starting to look like a remake of 1986.....Herman (and the Hermits?) and Grass Roots so far. Maybe Gary Pucket and The Monkees will be added.

I saw that too rj, why doesn't she just let the cat out of the bag already or she should of kept her mouth shut until the time to speak about it was okayed by all involved. I saw the post the other day she had with a boat but then the next day she came out and said it has nothing to do with a boat, its on February 29, 2016 but nothing to do with Davy, I figure it is something like you mentioned and I don't want anything to do with it, too many crazy monkee fans out there these days for me!!!

I didn't see the boat pic but after she got on that gal about the Con having nothing to do with their cruise plans, this surprises me. The Monkee Convention stuff has never appealed to me on a number of levels. Meeting up with fellow fans isn't the problem for me, and I think that would be fun. I don't know, just the hotel/everything costing too much/trade show deal holds no interest for me. Too commercial. Same for a cruise. I love the concerts I have been to. But seriously--you are not going to get to know any of the guys on one of these. You can pay for a meet and greet and stand by them for a second, and that's fun.......for a second. That's one thing I am forever grateful to Davy for since he was always so gracious to his fans. I met him, got his autograph and pic with him and it didn't cost me anything besides the ticket to his show. I'm not blaming the guys for this either really. Everything now seems to revolve around promoters and production and hotels and agents and advertising etc etc etc. So what used to be pretty simple now gets complicated. Maybe it's just me.

That's the whole weird thing about this, that woman post something and I believe started a fb page for a cruise in 2016 for the 50th anniversary, apparently some people saw it and went to the con ladies and all of a sudden this whole new de ja vu tour started, makes me thinks something must of got them going after looking like someone was overstepping them or this was in the works and it coming out earlier than they planned because of this woman and her plans. My whole feeling on this is it has become way too commercialized and I wonder if Davy was still alive if all of this would be going on, its like since his passing so many have come out of the woodwork to get out there for profit, etc. I would like to see some people I have met in the monkee groups I have belonged in but there is a majority of people I don't know if I would really want to met and to be stuck out in the middle of the ocean, eek, I don't think its my way to spend a vacation. I have heard pros and cons about the convention, I will say last years seems to be a bit more organized than the previous year, and I didn't see anything positive about that Brady Bunch Convention that was last summer, I guess we will just have to wait and see what happens.

Dragging it out sure describes this whole "cruise" deal, lol! I was out of the loop when it came to the Brady Bunch Convention and always wondered if it was successful or not.

I just saw something posted that the first of Jodi's big news is that Mike will be at the Chiller con in NJ in April, I think its around the time of the concerts in Canada, she also posted she will be with him all weekend!!! La de da!!!! I think she has now gotten the crown of the No. 1 Monkee fan girl!!!lol She still has some more news to come apparently, so I am sure the lines of communication are going crazy with everyone making plans, getting tickets and rooms!

Ohhhh crap, I just typed out several minutes of reply here and it disappeared! Anyway, more power to her and whomever is ambitious enough to put something like this together. None of this can take place without someone spending a lot of time and effort and making some money so there ya go.
