From what I've seen on some real estate sites that are featuring Beavertown properties, it appears the market there isn't so great there right now. Not to mention, the house didn't look like it was in stellar shape. With it being an older wood frame house, it will be a chronic fixer upper. Definitely needs a couple who are willing to invest a lot of money and sweat equity into it. Alas, I think the days of it ever becoming a museum dedicated to Davy have passed.

I don't know if you other ladies saw this but on facebook I saw that some woman is actually buying the church and plans to make it a museum because "that's what Davy would of wanted", she plans to live upstairs and make the bottom floor the museum, this woman's home burned down awhile ago and she plans on using the insurance money to purchase the property, any thoughts?

I saw that too Sandee. She must be legit with it because the real estate site show it as "offer pending". It'll be interesting to see what she's planning on filling it up with.

I guess me being me I just couldn't see taking money to rebuild my life and putting into something of that nature, I could only imagine all the work that needs to be done to bring things up to code, plus with Beavertown from what I understand being in the middle of nowhere from what friends have told me that have been there I can't see a museum being profitable to sustain it for a long period of time, I can't imagine people heading out there in the dead of winter or in the heat of the summer, I think she did mention something about stuff the girls left behind and getting with them to see what they want so apparently it sounds like maybe she gets to keep what they don't want for museum.

I wish her well. I hope that she can spare the money for that project, especially since the town opted not to follow through on the museum. Unfortunately, there's a good chance that the project may become a money pit.

I wish her well too. She's at least smart enough to make it her residence as well and it would be much easier to maintain than his house as a B&B. Utilities alone at the house would be astronomical on top of the payments/insurance/taxes. I'm self-employed and have often thought about combing my residence with the business and cut my expenses in half. If she's at or near retirement age that would also be a plus. Monkee Mania and Davy Mania is an extremely "niche" market, so it would be next to impossible to make a living off of visitors to Beavertown. I would love to see it happen, but I wouldn't undertake it myself without having a lot of back-up investment income to live on. I could see other possiblities with it besides just the museum. Wasn't Davy thinking of having a stage for performances as well? You could hold small events there. Maybe that Monkee Collectable guy who claims to have the biggest collection of memorabilia would hand some duplicate stuff over to her....LOL
